Export of Swiss Watches grew by 13,8% to 1,76 Swiss francs ($1,77 billion) in April, as Reuters informs. Such growth was stimulated by demand boom in key market of Hong Kong.

Export of Swiss Watches grew by 13,8% to 1,76 Swiss francs ($1,77 billion) in April, as Reuters informs. Such growth was stimulated by demand boom in key market of Hong Kong.

These news are beneficial for such Swiss watches makers as Swatch Group and Richemont.

Federation of Swiss Watch Industry (FH) noted that export showed signs of recovery after slow March. Total export reached 6,7 billion francs in first four months of a year, showing growth by 11%.

Export to Hong Kong rose in April by 43,4%. This is the fastest growth in six years.

After some hesitation there is a demand recovery on behalf of the US. Import into this country grew by 12,8% compared with April 2017.

Export to China increased by 11%, to Japan by 9,1%. German import rose by 12,8%. Sales to the UK however declined by 14,7%.
