Investor billionaire puts pressure on Nestle

Инвестор миллиардер Дэниел Леб в воскресенье проявил признаки давления на группу продуктов питания Nestle SA, высказавшись, что компания должна быть быстрее, смелее и более остро реагировать для улучшения показателей, сообщает Reuters.

Billionaire investor Daniel Loeb on Sunday expressed signs of pressure on food group Nestle SA, saying that company shall be faster, bolder and sharper to improve its performance, Reuters informs.

Third Point hedge fund ($18 billion) that invested more than $3 billion in Nestle also launched a website www.nestlenow.com, in order to support its initiative.

Loeb requires the company to simplify its too complicated structure. It shall spin off businesses that do not fit into Nestle’s strategy, including ice cream, frozen food and confectionery. According to the investor’s opinion, there should be three main divisions within the corportation: beverages, nutrition and grocery. Besides, Loeb recommended to include ouside expert in food and beverages into the board.

Investor criticized too slow growth of Nestle, shares decline and owing of business units that do not fit company’s strategy aimed at “nutrition for health”.
