Number of job openings in the US was held close to record level in June amid modest reduction in hiring, which indicates tightening at labor market, Reuters reports.

Economists hope that this situation will lead to higher wage growth, which together with robust economic growth will allow US Fed to raise interest rates in September.

US central bank increased borrowing costs in June for the second time in a year. According to US Fed forecasts, rates will be raised two times until December.

Number of job openings, which is an indicator of labor demand, stayed at 6,7 million in June. In April this parameter reached record level of 6,8 million.

Education sector gained 20000 vacancies, while transportation, warehouse and utility sectors lost 84000 vacancies. There is a serious shortage of truck drivers.

US economy growth rate was 4,1% in the second quarter, the highest in almost four years.
