New migrants that want to settle in Australia will soon face a major limits: they will have to choose other cities besides Sydney and Melbourne, Bloomberg reports.

Leaders of the country start developing a plan to limit immigrants flow into these two cities to solve a problem of rapid growth of population and infrastructure.

Problem of immigrants in large cities of Australia, where one person arrives each minute, is quite big today. While flow of immigrants resulted in population increase by 50% in last three decades and also stimulated economic growth, residents are now concerned that it can influence their living standards. They already observe housing prices rise, traffic jams and lower wage growth.

Now immigrants flow will be redirected into smaller cities. First, it will affect those who do not have support from employers or does not get visa for joining the family.

Immigration program supported arrival of 184000 people in 2017. Most immigrants arrived from India (21%), China (15%) and UK (9%).
