Ikea has been planning to expand its presence in more than ten new markets in recent years, Bloomberg reports. Swedish furniture giant sets the goal to reach 3 billion potential clients by 2025.

Ikea has been planning to expand its presence in more than ten new markets in recent years, Bloomberg reports. Swedish furniture giant sets the goal to reach 3 billion potential clients by 2025.

The company will soon open stores in Chile, Columbia and Peru through its new franchise known as Falabella. Products of the company will start selling in the future in such countries as Mexico, Estonia, Ukraine, Puerto Rico, Oman, Luxemburg, Macau and Philippines.

The company is planning to use different approaches to the sales: online, in the centers of cities and distant locations. It shall be noted that now Ikea is in the process of transformation that will help it to focus on emerging markets and alternative selling methods, including ecommerce and smaller store in the city centers.

In last 12 months retail sales of Ikea grew by 4,5% to 38,8 billion. The company opened 19 new stores in last fiscal year. Stores are working in more than 50 countries and were visited by 957 million buyers.
