American chain of hotels Marriott International Inc informed on Thursday that it is going to open about 30 hotels Courtyard by Marriott in Europe during next two year, Reuters reports. Among new markets for the corporation are Finland and Iceland.

Expansion plans appeared in less than a month after the company reduced its revenue per available room (RevPAR) for fourth quarter. This measure is the key one for hotels health. It shall be noted that forecast was reduced due to lower demand in North America, which is the key markets for Marriott.

Meanwhile, RevPAR for Europe grew by 5,7% in first nine months of 2018, while growth of this measure for North America in the same period was just 2%.

At the moment there are 63 Courtyard hotels functioning in Europe and aim at business travelers.
