Large trade surplus of China was reduced in May, Bloomberg reports. However, it did not involve trading with the US.

Trade gap with the US grew to $24,5 billion, which make the most part of total surplus equaled to $24,9 billion. In total, export rose by 12,6% in May compared to the last year, import increased by 26%, mostly due to higher oil and commodity prices. Shipment to the US were 11,6% higher, the biggest from February.

While deal with ZTE solved one problem existing in relationships between the US and China, stable trade deficit worries American President a lot. Increase in this parameter by more than $2 billion in May will make the situation only worse.

Last year trade deficit in regards to goods rose to record level of $375billion. If services are taken into account, then deficit decreases.

Increase in export in May probably was due to rising concerns in regards to trade dispute, as companies are trying to book orders when they still can do this.
