While investors in the US celebrated one more profitable quarter, equity holders in Hong Kong are hoping that October will bring the end to five-month losses, Bloomberg reports.

On Tuesday Hang Seng index lost 2,4%. As a whole, index demonstrates one of worst results in the world. Last time it showed such losses in 2011.

Failures in talks between the US and China as well as slowing economy of the country and rising Hong Kong’s interest rates put pressure on the market. On Wednesday index fell by 0,3% during opening.

Even IT-companies rally does not help. Tencent Holdings, the largest stock in Hong Kong, lost 18% last quarter.

Hang Seng is getting closer to the lowest level relative to S&P 500 since 2000.
